The Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering at Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) is a research-intensive program designed to develop advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in research, academia, and specialized technical positions within the civil engineering sector. Program Structure Research Focus: Students engage in independent research under the guidance of appointed supervisors, culminating in a thesis defense. Seminars: Participation in seminars related to their research area is required. Progress Reports: Monthly progress reports are submitted to supervisors, with periodic consultations arranged as needed. Publication Requirement: Students must publish at least one paper in an international journal or present at a conference. Performance Review: The Postgraduate Studies Committee reviews student performance quarterly. Entry Requirements A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related fields accepted by the IUKL Senate. Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree recognized by the Government of Malaysia. For international applicants: A minimum TOEFL score of 500 or IELTS score of 5.0, or equivalent.
