Course Overview

The Diploma in Culinary Arts at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur provides comprehensive training in culinary skills, equipping students with expertise in Asian and European cooking methods, food production design principles, nutrition planning, and management and leadership skills. Graduates are prepared for roles such as chef, restaurant manager, and catering entrepreneur.

Program Structure

  • Year 1: General Language Training, Introduction to Hospitality Tourism Industry, Food Nutrition, Hygiene and Sanitation, Baking and Patisseries, Basic Cookery 1, Menu Planning and Development, Academic English, Basic Cookery 2, Service Quality Management, Purchasing, Cost and Control, Entrepreneurship, and electives such as Wine Management or Print Production.
  • Year 2: Introductory French, Culinary Cooking Techniques, Fundamentals of Graphic Design, Food and Beverage Themes & Concepts, Culinary Artistry and Design, International and Asian Cuisine, Hospitality and Tourism Law, Human Resource Management, Co-curriculum Management, Industrial Revolution 4.0 in Malaysia, Culinary Project, and electives such as Food & Its Culture or Advertising Creativity.
  • Year 3: Internship.
